Ss. Peter and Paul's Primary School
Ss. Peter and Paul’s School Band was formed in 1993. The school has both a junior and senior band. In the junior band the pupils learn to read music and to play the recorder. In the senior band the members play a range of brass and reed instruments including trumpet, clarinet, flute, trombone, saxophone, baritone and euphonium.
The bands rehearse after school and play at school concerts and ceremonies.
The boys travel to Cork annually to participate in Cór Fhéile na Scol in City Hall. They also play Christmas Carols on the streets of Clonmel to fundraise for the St. Vincent de Paul Society.
Ms. Yvonne Moran is both band and choir director and the school is grateful to Yvonne for the time and effort put in and for her enthusiasm. We also express our gratitude to Jamie Millea and Ed Morrissey who also train the pupils.
